In the "The World Cup Pahlevani Wrestling" event held in Tabriz, Iran between 07-11 February 2024, the Turkish Traditional Wrestling National Team came in second as a team. Our National Team came in second in the World Cup Pehlivani (Karakucak) Wrestling, in which 14 countries participated. Our wrestlers representing our country won 5 medals. One of the medal-winning wrestlers is Ali Bönceoğlu, a graduate student at the Faculty of Sports Sciences of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University. Bönceoğlu from MAKÜ won a gold medal in the 100 kg category, making Burdur and our university proud.
