Mehmet Akif Ersoy expressed his deep thoughts and the importance of the holiday for the Turkish nation on the 102nd anniversary of the great victory with the following words:

“The importance of August 30 lies in the fact that it represents the pinnacle of our nation's struggle for freedom and independence. On this date, in 1922, under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, enemy forces were defeated, and the homeland was liberated from enemy occupation. This victory is not only a military success but also a symbol of our nation's unity and solidarity, determination, and perseverance. Therefore, August 30 holds a special place in our nation's history. For this reason, it is celebrated every year with great pride and enthusiasm.”
