Our Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar’s, “19 Mayıs Atatürk’ü Anma, Gençlik ve Spor Bayramı” message published on the occasion is presented below:

19 Mayıs, which represents the Turkish nation's will that does not bow to captivity, is not just a date; it is the symbol of a nation's resurgence, its march towards independence, and its unwavering hope for the future.

The independence torch lit by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk by landing in Samsun illuminated Anatolia on the shoulders of the youth; this spark turned into a great struggle that changed the fate of our nation.

Today, the greatest custodians of this historical legacy are our youth.

The level our youth, whom we see as ‘Asım’s Generation’ in the words of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, have brought our country to in science, art, sports, and technology makes us all proud.

As MAKÜ, we are working with all our strength to correctly channel the energy and excitement of the youth; to equip them with historical awareness, the skills of the age, and human values.

With the projects we carry out in strategic areas such as agriculture, animal husbandry, health sciences, and sports, we are combining production with knowledge; we ensure that our youth are better prepared for life through practical education. With our sports-friendly campus approach, we not only focus on their mental but also their physical and spiritual development.

We believe that the greatest strength and the most genuine hope of this country are our youth.

As much as we trust them, we also learn a lot from them.

With these thoughts, I celebrate the 19 Mayıs Atatürk’ü Anma, Gençlik ve Spor Bayramı of our youth and our dear nation, and I commemorate all our martyrs with mercy and our veterans with gratitude.
