A student from MAKÜ became the third in Turkey in the poster design competition

In collaboration with İstanbul Kent University and Sarıay Association, a poster design competition themed ‘The Power of Art Against Tobacco Addiction’ brought a meaningful success from Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Art and Design. Metin Arslanhan, a 3rd-year student from the Visual Communication Design Department, achieved third place in the competition with his poster.

In the competition held within the framework of the theme ‘The Power of Art Against Tobacco Addiction’, Metin Arslanhan drew attention with his striking poster designed with the slogan ‘Every cigarette steals a piece from your memory’ . Arslanhan, who received great appreciation for his design, brought an important achievement to MAKÜ, making MAKÜ proud.

The competition was evaluated by a distinguished jury consisting of expert academicians in the field. In addition to Sarıay Association President Dr. Şahan Can Şahan, the jury members included Dr. Lecturer Memetşan Yıldızhan from İstanbul Nişantaşı University, Dr. Lecturer Aslı Kuriş from İstanbul Kent University, Dr. Lecturer Erdem Göktepe from İstanbul Ticaret University, and Dr. Lecturer Salih Apaydın from İstinye University.

The original posters prepared by the participants to raise social awareness were meticulously evaluated by the jury. Metin Arslanhan’s award-winning poster once again demonstrated the impressive power of art against tobacco addiction.
