National Judoka Gizem Coşkun visited Rector Dalgar before the FISU World University Games

The 2025 FISU World University Games are starting in Germany's Rhine-Ruhr region with the participation of approximately 8,500 athletes from over 150 countries. In the grand organization to be held between July 16-27, Turkey will compete in 13 different branches.
In this prestigious organization, national athlete Gizem Coşkun, who will represent Turkey and Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in the judo branch, visited Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar in his office before the tournament. Coşkun, a student of the coaching department, was accompanied during the visit by Gökhan Çelik, who is also a Judo National Team coach and a faculty member of the Faculty of Sports Sciences.
Rector Dalgar conveyed his best wishes to the successful athlete who will represent their university and our country at an international level, saying, “It is a great source of pride for us that our student is participating in such a large organization. I congratulate both our student and our coach who contributed, and I wish them continued success.”
This year, Turkey will participate in a total of 13 branches in the games, including shooting, athletics, badminton, gymnastics, fencing, judo, rowing, table tennis, archery, water polo, taekwondo, tennis, and swimming. Athletes will compete for medals in 18 events in the organization.
