MAKÜ's rise continues in THE 2026 subject-based World University rankings

MAKÜ, by adding two new fields in the Times Higher Education 2026 Subject-Based World University Rankings, was included among world universities in three disciplines for the first time.
Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) achieved significant success in the 2026 Subject-Based World University Rankings (THE by Subject) results announced by Times Higher Education (THE).
MAKÜ, by entering the rankings in two new disciplines this year, succeeded in being among world universities in three different fields for the first time.
This result is considered a concrete reflection of MAKÜ's vision focused on research quality, academic productivity, international collaborations, and societal contribution. The qualified scientific studies and interdisciplinary collaborations conducted by the university in recent years have contributed to gaining visibility on an international scale.
The Subject-Based World University Rankings (THE by Subject) stand out by evaluating universities not only on their overall performance but also on their strengths specific to disciplines. In evaluations conducted in 11 main areas such as education studies, life sciences, physical sciences, engineering, law, medicine, and health sciences; criteria such as scientific publications, citation impact, international joint studies, industry income, and diversity of students and academics are taken into account.
The achievements obtained on a subject basis clearly demonstrate MAKÜ's competitiveness and development potential at an international level in certain disciplines. The rankings also increase the university's global visibility, offering significant opportunities for new academic and scientific collaborations.
