Academics who have succeeded in scientific production at MAKÜ were honored

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), within the framework of the program organized to encourage international scientific publication performance, brought together academics who publish in prestigious scientific journals in the Q1 and Q2 categories. During the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were presented to faculty members who contributed to the university's academic success with their qualified scientific works.
Speaking at the program, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar stated that the meetings held every three months aim not only to encourage scientific production but also to make the efforts of academics visible.
"We are the second State University showing the greatest rise in international rankings in Turkey"
Rector Dalgar noted that the university has gained a remarkable momentum in international academic rankings in recent years, stating that according to Scopus data, MAKÜ is the second State University showing the greatest rise in Turkey. Rector Dalgar mentioned that the university has risen from the 1500+ band to the 600 band and emphasized that visibility is increasing day by day in various international rankings, especially QS.
Rector Dalgar emphasized that this success is not merely about rankings, noting that the university, recognized for its regional development mission, also makes strong contributions to universal science.
Investments in research infrastructure continue
Stating that they have made significant investments in research infrastructure to ensure the sustainability of scientific production, Dalgar mentioned that the budget for Scientific Research Projects (BAP) has been increased sevenfold in the last two and a half years. Rector Dalgar expressed that research resources will be further strengthened with the completion of the affiliation process of the Faculty of Medicine, and that investments in artificial intelligence-supported research tools and digital databases are also ongoing.
"Let's include young academics in the production process"
In his speech, Rector Dalgar also touched upon the importance of academic solidarity, calling on faculty members publishing in Q1 and Q2 categories to guide young academics. He stated that the culture of scientific production will develop through the master-apprentice relationship and that research assistants and young faculty members should be an active part of this process.
Call for international collaborations
Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar emphasized the importance of international partnerships that will increase the university's scientific visibility. He urged academics to develop joint projects with researchers abroad. He expressed that these collaborations would make significant contributions to the university's international academic network and scientific production.
Ended with the presentation of certificates
The program concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to academics publishing in Q1 and Q2 categories in international indexes and a group photo session.
The university administration stated that they will continue their support efforts for academics to ensure the continued increase of qualified scientific publications.
