Just like in all of Turkey, the 102nd anniversary of the August 30 Victory Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in Burdur.
The ceremony was attended by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar. The celebrations, which started with a wreath-laying ceremony at Cumhuriyet Square, continued with Governor Türker Öksüz accepting congratulations.
At the ceremony, after a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, a speech was made by the Garrison Command about the significance and importance of the day. After Ayhan Özçelik, a veteran of the fight against terrorism, read a poem and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's congratulatory message was read, awards were given to students who were successful in various sports competitions.
The demonstrations by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command Dog Team and the Public Order Commando Unit attracted great interest. After the folk dance performance, the celebrations ended with the passage of the ceremony units and students.
