MAKÜ Women's Basketball Team's Championship Success on the Road to Promotion to the Super League

The Women's Basketball Tournament, which is included in the activity program of the Turkish University Sports Federation for the 2024-2025 academic year, was held at Atatürk Sports Hall between December 2-4, 2024. In the tournament, which was full of excitement, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Women's Basketball Team surpassed all its rivals with its superior performance and won the championship.

Throughout the three-day tournament, MAKÜ Women's Basketball Team, which attracted attention with its fighting spirit and teamwork, provided unforgettable moments to the audience with its determination and superior play in the final. The team, which completed all its matches with victories, lifted the championship trophy, and the joy of the athletes was worth seeing.

The champion MAKÜ Women's Basketball Team shared their joy of the cup and medals with Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar. In the visit where the Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Emrah Atay and Coach Assoc. Dr. Mehmet Ulaş were also present, Rector Dalgar sincerely congratulated the athletes and coaches. In his statement, Rector Dalgar emphasized the importance they attach to sports and athletes, saying, “We believe that sports not only contribute to physical development but also instill discipline, team spirit, and resilience. Our university is proud of this significant achievement in sports, in addition to its success in education. This championship is the best reward for the effort and determination given. I wholeheartedly congratulate all our athletes, especially our coaches, who contributed.”

With this championship, the MAKÜ Women's Basketball Team earned the right to participate in the Super League Promotion Competitions.
