The Volleyball Regional League Competitions organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation and hosted by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) were held at the MAKÜ Indoor Sports Hall between December 9-13, 2024.

A total of 12 teams participated in the tournament, both in women's and men's categories. The Rector of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University made the following statement after the tournament: “Our university successfully hosted the Regional Volleyball Competitions of the Turkish University Sports Federation. Women's and men's volleyball teams from eight different universities were in our Burdur for 5 days. In the women's category, Antalya Bilim University came first; our university's women's team came second, while Pamukkale University took third place. In the men's category, Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University came first, Pamukkale University second, and Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University third.

With such organizations, our aim is to encourage our university students to engage in sports. Rather than the results, the main priority for us is for our young people to turn towards sports and for our university to host such events.

Our university continues its initiatives with the goal of bringing more events and programs of the Turkish University Sports Federation to Burdur, especially in the winter season. We continue to work on further developing the athlete training and camp center project to make Burdur a center for sports tourism. I thank all our team members who contributed to the organization.”
