Rector Dalgar attended the spring semester academic board meetings

At the meeting, Türk Müziği Devlet Konservatuvarı Müdürü Doç. Dr. Zeynel Turan and Eğitim Fakültesi Dekanı Prof. Dr. Firdevs Savi Çakar made presentations about their faculties, providing information on academic staff, student numbers, departments, programs, and projects carried out. The opinions and requests of the academic staff were also discussed at the meeting.
Rector Dalgar: "We are taking strategic steps towards the future"
Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, in his speech, talked about the university's strategies for the future, stating that they continue their work in line with the Policy Document they have put forward since taking office. Dalgar, expressing that they are trying to make education, research, and management processes more effective by focusing on applied education and digital technologies, also mentioned the İstikbal Kampüsü project planned to be built instead of the prison.
In his speech, Rector Dalgar emphasized that academic board meetings should be seen as a platform where not only administrators provide information but also academic staff present their opinions and suggestions. He used the expressions, “I am here today to listen to you, to get your ideas. We want to take our university further with your contributions”.
A new education model with İstikbal Kampüsü
Rector Dalgar said that they have obtained the title deed of the prison land belonging to the Ministry of Justice. Stating that the İstikbal Kampüsü project to be implemented in this area will be a unique model in Turkey, Dalgar mentioned that this project will also serve as a practice school for the Eğitim Fakültesi.
Rector Dalgar; “This campus will offer our students the opportunity for applied education. This school, which will operate under the guidance of Eğitim Fakültesi academicians, will enable students to gain field experience from the first grade. At the same time, a Science Center and National Technology Workshops will also be established here. With this project, we aim to transform our university into a structure that centers on applied education, going beyond theoretical knowledge” he said.
Accreditation and future plans
Rector Dalgar emphasized that Eğitim Fakültesi and Veteriner Fakültesi have successfully completed their accreditation processes and met the Türkiye Yeterlilikler Çerçevesi (TYÇ) criteria. Stating that they aim to lead other faculties of the university in the accreditation process, Dalgar pointed out that departments without accreditation may face difficulties in finding students in the future, drawing attention to the warnings made by YÖK.
The meeting ended with the answering of questions from the academic staff and the evaluation of their suggestions. The MAKÜ administration stated that they will continue to implement projects aimed at the development of the university with the contributions of the academic staff.
Rektör Yardımcıları Prof. Dr. Hakan Öner, Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy and Rektör Danışmanı Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Alparslan also attended the meeting.
