Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) hosted a seminar program aimed at supporting students' work in technology development, project production, and innovation fields. The program, held at Lavanta Tepesi Hotel, addressed the opportunities offered to young people in line with the vision of the National Technology Move and the TEKNOFEST processes.

In the seminar, MAKÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy and T3 Foundation Burdur Provincial Representative and Süleyman Demirel University Lecturer Emine Büşra Aygün provided information to students. Information was shared about participation in TEKNOFEST competitions, project development processes, the foundation's educational activities, and scholarship opportunities.

“What will differentiate students is what they do outside of classes”

In his opening speech, MAKÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy emphasized that university education is not just about classes and diplomas, highlighting the importance of students participating in projects that will help them develop.

Gürsoy stressed that the way to stand out among students graduating from different universities is through the additional skills gained during the educational process and the work produced, stating that various opportunities are offered in this direction at MAKÜ. He noted that the university aims to guide students towards research, development, and innovation activities with its micro-competency programs and project supports.

Gürsoy mentioned that a support program was created through the Scientific Research Projects (BAP) Coordination for students who want to participate in TEKNOFEST, and that project opportunities supported by TÜBİTAK and the European Union should also be evaluated by students.

“The most important parts of the National Technology Move are our youth”

Prof. Dr. Gürsoy pointed out the importance of the National Technology Move for Turkey's technological independence, stating that the production of technology and the development of original projects by young people are decisive for the country's future.

In addition to developments in the defense industry, Gürsoy highlighted the importance of domestic production and technological transformation in agriculture, livestock, and food technologies, referring to the university's work in agriculture and livestock. He emphasized the need to increase efficiency in production through autonomous farm applications, reduce labor needs, and effectively use technology in different sectors.

Gürsoy stated that the Turkey Technology Team Foundation is one of the important organizations that directs young people towards technology, encourages idea development, and contributes to project production, noting that TEKNOFEST competitions and the scholarship opportunities offered by the foundation create significant opportunities for students.

T3 Foundation's projects and scholarship programs were introduced

T3 Foundation Burdur Provincial Representative and SDÜ Lecturer Emine Büşra Aygün, who spoke at the program, emphasized the importance of opportunities where young people can realize their ideas and showcase their potential.

Aygün stated that universities are not just institutions where vocational training is received, but provide environments that contribute to young people discovering themselves, setting their goals, and shaping their futures.

Aygün reported that she has been actively involved in the work carried out in Burdur under the T3 Foundation for about two and a half years, noting that the activities are conducted through the TEKNOFEST community within the university and the Deneyap workshops in Burdur.

Emphasizing the importance of team spirit and collaborative production in the foundation's work, Aygün explained the various opportunities offered to students, from TEKNOFEST competitions to scholarship programs, and from educational activities to project supports.

Aygün highlighted that an opportunity learned at the right time can open new doors in students' career journeys, stressing the importance of young people being aware of the programs and supports. She noted that announcements are communicated to students through universities and various communication channels, and provided information about application processes and available opportunities in her presentation.

The seminar held at MAKÜ contributed to students' awareness of the opportunities offered within the scope of the National Technology Move, their understanding of project development processes, and their participation in TEKNOFEST activities.
