Within the scope of the project, the Ramadan events organized by the MAKÜ Turkish Music State Conservatory Folk Dance Department attracted great interest. The event, enlivened with a meddah performance, Sufi music concert, and whirling dervish shows, received intense participation from the village people.
Speaking before the event, MAKÜ Turkish Music State Conservatory Director and Folk Dance Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynel Turan expressed their happiness for keeping alive the art of Meddah, an important element of traditional culture, and Sufi music in Susuz Village. Turan said, "We are here to make the Ramadan nights even more meaningful and aim to provide our people with an unforgettable night."
Within the scope of the Village University project, 25 villages connected to the Burdur center were selected as pilot regions. The trainings to be provided by MAKÜ's expert academic staff in different fields will continue regularly in the designated villages.
