Student communities at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), which contribute to students' academic development as well as their social, cultural, and personal development, opened their doors to students in the new term. Stands were set up in the area behind ÜNİPARK AVM during the Autumn Semester Community Introduction Days held between October 19-21, 2026.
With 110 student communities operating at the university, the event aims to help students lead a more active and productive university life by promoting their activities. The Provincial Police Department and the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports also participated with their stands, while community representatives provided information about their activities to visitors and conducted new member registrations.
Communities operating in various fields from science to art, and from culture to sports, offer students the opportunity to discover their interests and talents, acquire new skills, and expand their social circles. Students visiting the stands during the introduction days apply to join communities by closely getting to know the activities in the fields they are interested in.
Support for student communities from Rector Dalgar
MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar also visited the stands set up during the introduction days. Meeting with community representatives and students, Rector Dalgar received information about the ongoing activities and chatted with the students.
During the visit, accompanied by the university administration, Rector Dalgar and the management team expressed their best wishes for success to the student communities and stated that they are with them in their efforts.
The introduction days, which will continue for three days at MAKÜ, aim to ensure that students participate more actively in university life and meet with communities where they can develop themselves in areas of interest.
